Mr Martin Duggan
has retired from Dublin Bus as the Area Manager for Conyngham Road Depot and Ringsend Depot. His vast experience in Depot
Management within Dublin Bus was second to none. We wish Martin well in his retirement and send our best wishes to his wife
and family. Martin's retirement officially started July 1st 2009.
Gareth Quinn is the new Area Manager for Phibsboro,
Conyngham Road and Ringsend Dublin Bus Depots. Gareth will now have to take on the rsponsibility of dealing with the effects
of the economic recession on bus passenger numbers. This will lead to many changes in bus routes with some buses having to
be "rested" from service so as to curtail any losses on the company's finances. We have also had to say goodbye
to some senior drivers who have decided to "call it a day" and retire slightly earlier than their official retirement
at 65 years of age. We obviously will miss them at Conyngham Road and we have also had to say goodbye and happy retirement
to several senior clerical and maintenance colleagues. They have started another chapter in their lives but we will not forget
them as they have been tremendous work colleagues and friends for a long time.
The new Depot Operations Manager from Monday 6th July 2009 for
Conyngham Road is Terry Fitzgerald. Terry was the Depot Administrator in Ringsend Depot for several years. Terry is responsible
for the day to day running of the bus operations and is daily scrutinising the operations to ensure as few as possible obstacles,
(whether it be traffic problems, roadworks or even the weather), interfere with the scheduling of the buses. Our good friend Kevin Lynch
has transferred to Summerhill Depot and we take this opportunity to thank Kevin for his kindness, support, friendship and
experience during his time at Conyngham Road.
The Depot administrator is Darina Curtis who came to us from Summerhill Depot in November 2008.. Darina has huge experience
in various departments within Dublin Bus and her knowledge does not go wasted in her role as Administrator. Darina's experience
with bus schedules is vast so she is aware of the need to administer staffing levels to meet the demand of the bus services
on a day to day basis. Darina has by now settled into her position as Administrator but still, a belated welcome to Team Conyngham
Road.
